ARTWORK, DESIGN SPECS. AND GENERAL PRINT INFO.

Using Our Customizer/Online Designer

1.) PRINTED ARTWORK & ARTWORK SIZING

Please note that we do not print your logos to the measurements displayed on our online designer as we cannot replicate exactly due to software limitations. All orders are visually sized up and printed as close as possible to match your order mockup. If you require specific sizing for your logos, please specify these exact measurements in the "Order Comments" section during the checkout process.

2.) DESIGN COLORS & GARMENT COLORS

Unfortunately like many things on the web, we are unable to replicate exact print colors as you see on screen for your design and also, garment fabric colors exactly as they appear in real life. If the design color and/or garment fabric color is color critical, we recommend that you purchase a sample from us prior to placing your bulk order to ensure the product is suitable for your project.

Creating Your Artwork

Sports Bling Tees utilizes graphics applications for PC. Please refer to the following when preparing your artwork. Artwork created on the MAC must include the extension in the file name. Example: tigers.eps.

Acceptable File Formats : Detailed Specifications
CoreIDraw® : Version 11 to X7. All artwork should be "ON" the page.

Adobe Illustrator® : All versions. All files should be saved with the .eps extension. If using Illustrator CC (Creative Cloud), save the file as a CS5 .eps file. All artwork should be saved on the artboard. We prefer eps files but make sure the "Create PDF compatible file" option is checked when saving an Illustrator Al file.

Adobe Acrobat® (PDF Files) : All versions. PDFs can contain vector and bitmap graphics/text. All text should be converted to curves. All artwork should be "ON" the page.

Bitmaps/Jpgs (photos) : Most files with extensions .jpg, .tif, .gif, .psd and .bmp can be viewed. For screen printed transfers, these files will be used only as guides from which the artwork will be recreated. Grayscale and full color bitmaps, such as photographs, can usually be used as provided for digital prints as long as the resolution is a printable quality.

Photoshop® / Corel Photo Paint® : All versions. For screen print, your uploaded files will be used only as guides from which the artwork will be recreated. Grayscale and full color bitmaps can usually be used as provided for digital transfers as long as the resolution is a printable quality.

Microsoft Word® : These files may contain usable art or they will be used as a guide for recreating the art.

Other Acceptable File Formats:

1.) Size - maximum is 11.25" x 14" :   Although it's not required, it is a good idea to send us your file at the size you want it printed.

2.) Convert text to curves:   For vector files, please convert all text to curves/outlines before sending them.

3.) Colors:   We use spot colors for screen printing. You can use spot colors when creating art, but it is not required. Use consistent colors in your file. Example: Use the same blue for all your blue areas.

4.) Line Thickness:

Basic Print = .012"  - Recommended line thickness is .012" thick for printed areas.

Glitter Print = .025"  - Recommended line thickness for Glitter is .025" thick for printed areas.

Puff Print =  .023" puffs to .05"   - Recommended line thickness for Puff color. Non-Puff colors is .012" thick for printed areas (This may need to be increased if printed next to a Puff color).

(Be aware that Puff ink will increase the printed line thickness. A line that is .023" will puff up to become .05" in the applied print. .023" puffs to .05")

5.) Show-Thru Thickness:

Basic Print = .04"   - Recommended show-thru thickness for all screen printed ink formulas is .04" thick for show-thru areas except for Puff.

Puff Print = .1"   - Puff show-thru thickness should be .l" thick.

6.) Special effects, fades, shadows, shading, etc. are not recommended:
Some special effects just can't be produced with screen printing. Consider digital prints if your art contains these.

1.) For Bitmap/Photo images - Resolution at 300 dpi:   Images should be created and saved at a resolution of 300 dpi (dots per inch) and at the size it will be printed. Enlargements of your file can cause poor image quality (Note: Web site images are created at 72 dpi - low resolution images don't print well).

2.) Convert text to curves:   For vector files, please convert all text to curves/outlines before sending them. For Photoshop® files, please rasterize/render all type layers.

3.) Color/Mode should be CMYK (process):   Digital transfers are printed in CMYK process colors (not spot colors like our screen printed transfers). Not all RGB colors can be rendered in CMYK; therefore, you should convert the file before sending it (Note: Images on websites are usually created in RGB colors).

4.) Special effects, fades, etc. can be used:   Our digital transfers can reproduce multi-color fades and other special effects within your artwork. All fades, colors, effects, etc., should be set up in process CMYK colors.

Digital Print Line thickness and show-thru thickness:

■ .1" - Recommended thickness for white only areas is .1" thick

■ .1" - Recommended thickness for non-printed/show-thru areas is .1" thick

DIE-CUT Film Material (HTV) Application:

This material is applied using specific timed temperatures and pressures to create a permanent bond with the substrate.

Our Die-Cut Material will not work with fine detailed images with a line thickness smaller than 0.250".  So a non-serif font with capital letters at about 0.250" is minimum for design.

1.) Sublimated apparel will never crack, fade or peel.

2.) Color dyed into fabric creating a vibrant look.
3.) Design detail is crisp and clear.

4.) No two garments will be completely identical.
5.) Pre- Dye Sub projects are cut and sewn. ("additional fees may apply")

6.) SBT is not responsible for any imperfections post Dye Sub projects.

6.) Ink WILL NOT apply to areas with wrinkles, creases & uneven areas.

Recommended File Types:

JPEG Image (*.jpg,*.jpeg)Adobe Illustrator® (*.eps)

Adobe Photoshop® (*.eps)

CorelDraw® (*.eps)

Art Recommendations:

1.) 150 dpi minimum (300 dpi is best for large prints)

2.) Best Solution for Rip/Print Ready Art - Saved as NON-Progressive.

3.) Do not use overprint or overfill in you artwork it may not print correctly.

4.) If you use Pantone color then must be an eps file. (if using Pantone colors you can request a color chart before printing to insure your colors are correct).

5.) ALL Files MUST BE PRINT READY ART! We do not change or modify your art for printing.

6.) If you require artwork modification or changes you must describe that to your sales person in writing.

1.) Dye Sub Standard Prints (12"x18" max):   Your art for a Dye Sub Print must be a 12" x 18" rectangle (do not use the art board, it must be a rectangle object) Then Export/Save your artwork as
a 150dpi (or greater) jpg file. ( Do Not Mirror your Art )

General Print Information

Raster Image vs. Vector Image

→ Images designed for the web are NOT suitable for printing! ←

Color Mode = CMYK: Submitting your files as 4 color CMYK. Full color printing process requires artwork to be saved in four-color process as CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow and black) color mode.

Bleed: Bleed size is 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch outside of the final Print size. Applies to Decals/Stickers/Corrugated sign art.

How Many DPI Should My Image Be Saved At?
• The higher the DPI (dots-per-inch), the greater the resolution providing a much clearer image. However, higher resolution images create a much larger file size which creates a much longer upload speed.

• Image resolution is directly related to an image's physical size. Higher resolutions allow the image to be enlarged without disrupting overall clarity. Lower resolutions do not allow for images to be enlarged as the image will become pixelated.

• For printed images, the ideal resolution is 300dpi (dots-per-inch). For printed images containing text, the ideal resolution is 400dpi.

What Is A Vector Image?
• Vector images are composed of individual objects and include lines, shapes and other different attributes such as color.
• Vector images are resolution independent - scaling images does not affect the quality of the artwork.
• Vector images are normally much smaller in file size than other file types such as .JPG, .JPEG, .PDF, etc.
• Vector images are NOT suitable for photo-realistic reproductions.
• Fonts are vector objects and must be outlined or embedded before artwork is submitted.

* How to check the dpi of the jpg. Right click on the Jpg file, then left click properties, then left click on Details tab, look at horizontal and vertical resolution it will tell you what the Pixel size is and also what the DPI is and plug those numbers in the formula below.Using these pixel dimensions, you can now calculate the maximum reproduction size of the file:  Example 5400 x 9000 pixels divided by the dpi

(5400 pixels / 150 dpi ) X  (9000 pixels / 150 dpi ) = 36" x 60"

** Fonts/Artwork : must be outlined/embedded before the artwork is submitted (Linked Files WILL NOT WORK).
   - All Fonts must be supplied if not outlined to insure text will not shift or default to another font. (Rasterize the Fonts when using Photoshop).

Outline Fonts :
Since there are literally thousands of fonts available on both Mac's and PC's, it becomes a problem to be sure that everyone has access to the same fonts and can display your images properly. When digital art is supplied with missing fonts, we cannot process your job in production. The answer to this problem is to either embed your fonts, or convert them to outlines. Outlining fonts will allow us to insure text will not shift or default to another font.

More Helpful Tips:
• Most computer monitors do not accurately represent true resolution. To see if your image is print ready, zoom in 300%-400%. If the image is still clearly visible and your edges are clean, then your image is ready to be printed. If your image becomes very blurry and pixelated, the image you are choosing might not be print ready and therefore will cause a blurry print.

• When taking pictures from a digital camera for your print project, it is best to set your camera to the highest resolution setting.

• Four-Color Printing Process uses the CMYK color mode. Most digital cameras and scanners will take RGB pictures

• Saving files in lossless file format such as .TIF and .EPS will help maintain accuracy and color quality.

• Bitmap images should not be used when submitting files for printing. Bitmap images (.BMP) are rasterized images and are normally saved in a lower file size. Therefore, files can be scaled without proper aspect ratio's and in the ending result be distorted or have color defects.

• If you wish to print 'Pure Black' you will need to set your 'black' color to: 50% Cyan, 50% Magenta, 50% Yellow and 100% Black.

NOTE: In order for SBT to offer low pricing to its customers we require that our customer's artwork have minimum requirements for printing. These requirements help to ensure that the finished product will be of the highest standards and will reduce artwork modifications by our art staff. Please review the artwork minimums and if you agree that your artwork meets these minimums then proceed with order(s). If your artwork does not meet these minimums, your artwork may need to be modified by our art staff for an additional minimal charge of $60/hr.
